The State of Illinois requires a staff member with a Food Service Sanitation Certificate in all health care facilities serving food. As of July 2, 2014, IDPH has changed the requirements for certification and recertification for Food Service Sanitation Managers. The amended rules changes the certification training period from 15 hours to 8 hours, while the refresher course has been eliminated and recertification training is 8 hours. Cynthia Chow & Associates, LLC, is pleased to provide training for both certification and recertification for Certified Dietary Managers, dietitians, dietetic technicians, other food service personnel such as cooks, and licensed nursing home administrators. The classes are given on-site and at times that are at the convenience of the facility and staff, but they are also available according to the following schedule:

Linda Brinkman, M.S., R.D., LDN, is a registered dietitian, home economist, and State Certified Sanitation Manager and Instructor. She has developed the Food Service Sanitation Course that is offered through Cynthia Chow & Associates, LLC. Linda has had an extensive and broad career in the food industry and has worked as a farmer, a home economist for the U.S.D.A. and Jewel Foods Company, and as a Quality Assurance Technologist. Having taught at the university level, she is currently collaborating with Iowa State University on an educational project.
